Christian V. Rodriguez is the 10th Mayor of the Municipality of Taytay, Palawan. Born on December 24, 1971 in San Jose, Antique to public servants, Judge Cesar L. Rodriguez and former Taytay Mayor Evelyn V. Rodriguez. Mayor Christian’s exposure to a life of public service was instrumental in fueling his relentless drive in uplifting the lives of Taytayanos and instilling a deep commitment of putting the welfare of the people above everything else, thus, his mantra of “Taytay, Una sa Lahat.”

He is brother to former Taytay Mayor, Roberto V. Rodriguez, and former Calawag, Taytay Punong Barangay Ceasar V. Rodriguez Jr., and husband to Poblacion, Taytay Punong Barangay Maria Lucia R. Rodriguez. The family bolsters a track record of public service to Taytayanos spanning more than three (3) decades.

Mayor Christian’s work in government began in 1992 in the executive branch as a Security Officer during the incumbency of his mother. He then later transitioned to the legislative branch, being appointed in 2012 as a Sangguniang Bayan Member, after the untimely demise of his mother.

He was duly elected as the Municipal Vice Mayor in 2013, where he spent three (3) terms, running unopposed in the 2016 and 2019 local elections. At the helm of the Sangguniang Bayan, as its presiding officer, eight hundred ninety-eight (898) resolutions were approved and two hundred four ordinances (204) were enacted.

In 2020, Mayor Christian assumed as the Local Chief Executive of Taytay, Palawan with the sudden passing of Taytay Mayor Romy L. Salvame, where he took on the enormous challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and Typhoon Odette.

Mayor Christian has been residing in Barangay Poblacion, Taytay, Palawan for the past 31 years. He and his wife are the proud parents of Francis Cesar, Franchesca Marie, Dayannara Christy (deceased) and Maria Theresa.

He was elected to his present post in the May 9, 2022 General Elections.
