Section 13 of Ordinance No. 306 – Series of 2018 otherwise known as ICTO Ordinance of 2018 states that: xxx An Information and Communications Technology Department (ICTD) is hereby created under the executive Department. It shall be in-charge of electronic database management of the organization which involves encoding, planning, analysis, system design, implementation, maintenance and protection of database as well as overseeing the implementation of the provisions of this Ordinance.
The Information and Communications Technology Department (ICTD) shall also be responsible for the development, design & maintenance of computer-based information systems for various offices/departments of the LGU Taytay. It shall also provide educational trainings, electronic presentation or other technical supports to end users or various sections, departments and instrumentalities of the municipal government. xxx
And thus, the Office of the Municipal ICT Officer shall act as technical support to the functionaries of the Local Government of Taytay by providing and leveraging ICT-related solutions, services, and infostructures, to achieve digital transformation towards improved processes, data-driven governance, inclusive, effective, efficient, and transparent delivery of local government services.
